According to reports, former president Barack Obama reprimanded a former doctor for doubting Joe Biden’s cognitive abilities while on the 2020 campaign road.
Emails published in a biography by Rep. Ronny Jackson (R-TX) include a furious email from Obama in response to Jackson’s tweet from 2020 proposing that Biden take a cognitive test.
Jackson, who served as Presidents George Bush, Obama, and Donald Trump’s physician, claimed that Biden’s bizarre utterances and worrying mental slip-ups have raised questions about whether or not he is psychologically fit to serve as president.
Remember the cognitive test I gave @realDonaldTrump? Jackson, whose book is titled “Holding the Line: A Lifetime of Defending Democracy and American Values,” advocated for physicians to do tests on Biden, tweeting that ” pushed for doctors to examine Biden in 2020. which he excelled! Another person could require testing! Scary!! ”
Jackson claims that 20 minutes after posting his tweet, Obama sent him a harsh email expressing his displeasure and his unprofessional conduct for the cheap shot he made at Joe Biden.
Apparently, Obama wrote to Jackson,“I have made a point of not commenting on your service in my successor’s administration and have always spoken highly of you both in public and in private. It was unprofessional and beneath the office that you once held. It was also disrespectful to me and the many friends you had in our administration. You were the personal physician to the President of the United States as well as an admiral in the U.S. Navy. I expect better, and I hope upon reflection that you will expect more of yourself in the future.”
Jackson claimed that this was the last time he spoke with Obama; he had thought about responding to his email, but eventually chose against doing so.
Jackson had before drawn satirical attention for claiming that a cognitive test Trump had done had revealed that he was in good mental form and had no cognitive or mental difficulties at all.
