TAILYR IRVINE | Times Ron DeSantis announces plans to invest in Florida workforce programs at Tampa Bay Technical High School on Jan. 30, 2019 in Tampa, FL. DeSantis says he wants to take Florida from 24th in the nation to first in workforce preparation.

The office of Ron DeSantis has stated that a significant announcement would be made this morning. It follows widespread rumors that the well-liked, anti-woke governor of Florida might challenge Trump in 2024.

In a cryptic tweet, DeSantis’ press secretary Christina Pushaw teased that the revelation will set off the year’s biggest leftist collapse.

DeSantis, 43, who has gained support among Republicans in recent years, typically trails former president Donald Trump in surveys.

If DeSantis does decide to run for president, many people expressed their support on social media.

“Ron DeSantis is the best governor in our nation,” wrote JimmyTaker. a genuine leader. “I hope he becomes our president someday.”

Although the governor’s supporters are growing, many have advised against the two going head-to-head. The governor backed the Don’t Say Gay bill, which sought to ban offensive sexual information from classrooms.

Rep. Matt Gaetz, a steadfast Trump supporter who claimed to be closest to DeSantis than anyone else, asserted the two were on the same team last month and cautioned against potentially weakening and splitting the GOP.

“I think President Trump really views DeSantis’s success with great pride, that he took someone who was in Congress and that he saw great potential in and he nurtured that leadership that Ron DeSantis has now displayed to the world,” he added.

Rep. Matt Gaetz, a steadfast Trump supporter who claimed to be closest to DeSantis than anyone else, asserted the two were on the same team last month and cautioned against potentially weakening and splitting the GOP.

He continued by saying that it would be disastrous if the GOP won by default but then became too fractured and preoccupied with intra-party issues to exhibit vision and clarity.

Pushaw continued to tease the announcement in later Tweets. She implied that the announcement wouldn’t be that DeSantis was starting a presidential campaign when she indicated that it wouldn’t be about a campaign but rather government matters.

Given all of this, it seems doubtful that DeSantis would declare his opposition to Trump today, but anything is possible.

He is far more likely to eventually run for president and work in some position for Trump’s campaign.
