After the terrorist attack on Israel by Hamas militants on October 7, President Joe Biden reiterated the United States’ commitment to Israel. The head of state recently visited the country in the Middle East. As he was leaving for his vacation, a rocket struck a hospital in Gaza, killing hundreds. Biden said that radical Muslims were to blame.

Hospital Attack
On October 17th, a bomb went off near the Gaza City Al-Ahli Baptist Hospital. Reports indicate that many residents of Gaza have sought refuge in medical facilities since the conflict broke out. Dr. Fadel Na’eem told reporters that an explosion occurred while he was in the surgery room. He claimed he initially attributed the noise to an outside source since he “never thought that they would bomb the hospital.”

When the surgeon left the operating room, his worst fears were realized. Many people, he stated, lay dead on the ground after the explosion. There were about 500 fatalities, including many children. Right away, fingers were being pointed in every direction.

According to Palestinian accounts, Israel was responsible for the attack on the civilian facility. Israel, meanwhile, claims the rocket was fired from within Gaza and that the Israeli military had nothing to do with it.

Biden Speaks Out
The day following the bombing of the hospital, President Biden visited Israel. The American intelligence agencies that briefed him on the explosion believed that it was the result of a failed rocket launch by the Palestinian Islamic Jihad, a terrorist organization with ties to Hamas.

When asked who was responsible for the attack on the hospital, President Biden told Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that it “was done by the other team,” not Israel.

Even if he was still on Netanyahu’s side, the president offered a friendly warning. He likened the strike that launched the war in Israel to the September 11 attacks on the United States. President Biden has claimed that the United States of America knows how victims of violent acts feel. He warned,, “But I caution this: While you feel that rage, don’t be consumed by it.” He explained that the US made mistakes after the terrorist attack that killed almost 3,000 because the country was so consumed by rage.

Netanyahu Speaks Out
The day following President Biden’s visit, Prime Minister Netanyahu discussed the attack on Israel that sparked the conflict. He said that 1,400 Israelis were killed by Hamas because the country was on the verge of expanding regional peace. The prime minister had been trying to improve relations with Saudi Arabia.

According to Netanyahu, the strike was carried out with the express intent of preventing the possibility of peace in the Middle East. He’s geared up for a long war now.
