Vivek Ramaswamy, a tech millionaire, is a long-shot contender who has entered the Republican primary. He has garnered a lot of media coverage in each debate, despite the fact that his chances of winning remain extremely low. The third Republican debate was no different, with him again using his podium to criticize the leadership of his party.

The third Republican primary debate was hosted by the RNC on November 8. The absence of former President Donald Trump provided an opportunity for the other contenders to shine. Ramaswamy, in his opening comments, accused the RNC of letting NBC News shield former President Joe Biden. He criticized the network moderators for the debate rather than conservatives like “Tucker Carlson, Joe Rogan, and Elon Musk.”

Ramaswamy has also voiced his displeasure with the RNC for their performance in the midterm elections. There’s a “cancer in the Republican establishment,” he continued, and the result is that “we become a party of losers.” He blamed current Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel, adding that since she assumed her position in 2017, the party had “lost [in] 2018, 2020, 2022 […] We got trounced last night in 2023.” He called on the chairwoman to resign from her position.

Later in the debate, the rivalry between Ramaswamy and former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley exploded again. The moderator asked how he would ban TikTok when he uses it himself. The businessman took the opportunity to attack Haley, who he said made fun of him for joining the Chinese-owned app “while her own daughter was actually using the app for a long time.” He told her that she should take care of her own family before she said anything to him.

The crowd booed Ramaswamy for the swipe, and Haley told the Republican candidate to leave her daughter alone, telling him, “You’re just scum.” At the previous debate, she’d told him that she feels “dumber” every time he speaks.
