An older Home Depot employee from Hillsborough, North Carolina, passed away from his wounds a few months after being violently shoved to the ground by a thief.
On October 18, an individual who was leaving the Home Depot shop with three stolen pressure washers assaulted Gary Rasor, 83.
After pushing Gary Rasor to the ground, the suspect made off with the stolen goods without a care in the world.
The victim’s wife told WNCN that because the suspect is a well-known crook, her husband recognized him.
“He knows the guy is a thief. He’s been there, he’s seen him in the store before. And what he told me was that sometimes the guy will buy one or two items so he has a receipt, and then he’ll add more stuff to his cart and flash the receipt.”
The still-wanted suspect is described as a black male who stands around 6 feet tall.
In a white Hyundai Sonata, the suspect sped away, according to Hillsborough Police.
While receiving medical attention for his wounds, Gary Rasor turned 83, but he passed away on December 1 instead.
An elderly Home Depot worker who was thrown by a theft suspect in October as he was allegedly stealing three pressure washers died on Thursday as a result of his injuries.
On the morning of October 18, the employee stopped the suspect as he was exiting the garden area of the business with a shopping cart full of stolen goods.
The elderly employee seems to be shoved to the ground and the suspect rushes out of the store, according to surveillance footage made public by the Hillsborough Police Department.
The victim’s injuries from the incident complications led to his death on December 1st. His death was judged to be a homicide by a medical examiner.
The suspect is a described as a Black male about 6 feet tall who escaped in a white Hyundai Sonata. The Hillsborough Police Department is currently looking for him. The car’s temporary North Carolina tag was hidden.
