Sen. Mark Kelly (D-Ariz.) blasted his party for continuing to flagrantly disregard the border problem.
When asked whether Democrats have a handle on the ongoing border challenges during an interview with the Washington Post, Kelly said without a doubt that they do not.
Kelly said that Democratic politicians don’t comprehend the border crisis, “we have to do more in border security. We have to do more in comprehensive immigration reform, especially dreamers, but also these visa programs. If you’re a farmer, especially in Southern Arizona, despite having a ready supply of eager workers, you don’t have the visas available and it’s a problem for them.”
Kelly told reporters earlier this month that President Joe Biden wreaked havoc on a border that was previously well-secured.
More than 2.76 million illegal immigrants entered the country during the fiscal year of 2022 after Biden took office, however officials claim the number is higher because the majority of interactions resulted in no arrests.
Under Biden’s direction, at least five million unauthorized immigrants have entered the nation.
Kelly started to distance himself from Democrats early this year, calling them all traitors and claiming that none of them would oppose Biden and his unfavorable policies.
“When Democrats are wrong, like on the border, I call them out on it,” Kelly sternly said.
Kelly blasted Biden’s decision to abolish Title 42, saying that he has opposed the administration’s decisions multiple times and that he supports physical barriers at the border.
“When the president decided he was going to do something dumb on this and change the rules that would create a bigger crisis, you know, I’ve told him he was wrong. So I’ve pushed back on this administration multiple times, and I’ve got more money on the ground.”
