TX Mayor Springs an Unwelcome but Well-Deserved Surprise on Dem City

Washington, D.C., was outraged when Texas Governor Greg Abbott revealed his charter bus strategy for undocumented immigrants in April. was chosen as the sanctuary city to which they would be sent since President Biden’s failed open borders policy had forced them into overcrowded Texas border communities.

Several months later, when D.C. Abbott added New York City to the list after Mayor Muriel Bowser complained about her city’s homeless shelters allegedly being overrun and twice asked for National Guard assistance. This sparked a heated exchange between Abbott and the city’s Mayor Eric Adams, who also grumbled about resources allegedly running out and angrily called Abbott a “anti-American governor.”

Just a few days before the Labor Day holiday weekend begins, we learn that the Democratic-run city of Chicago, which is home to America’s worst mayor, Lori Lightfoot, has been added to the list of charter bus destinations. Two buses will be arriving at Chicago’s Union Station early on Wednesday evening.

“President Biden’s inaction at our southern border continues putting the lives of Texans—and Americans—at risk and is overwhelming our communities. To continue providing much-needed relief to our small, overrun border towns, Chicago will join fellow sanctuary cities Washington, D.C. and New York City as an additional drop-off location. Mayor Lightfoot loves to tout the responsibility of her city to welcome all regardless of legal status, and I look forward to seeing this responsibility in action as these migrants receive resources from a sanctuary city with the capacity to serve them,” stated Governor Abbott.

Lightfoot, like other Democrats who like to talk a big game but consistently fail to deliver, is notorious for not practicing what she preaches and for holding people to standards to which she does not hold herself, so even though her office is so far acting diplomatically, expect her to eventually lash out big time at Abbott just as Adams did.
