After stating that Americans should purchase solar panels on Sunday, Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm received backlash on social media. She said that by spending thousands on solar panels and other green energy programs, Americans in the lower to middle classes could combat the nation’s rising cost of living.

She explains the benefits to Americans of the recently passed Inflation Reduction Act. She asserts that the recently approved measure, which has since been characterized as a tax on healthcare and energy costs, would affect regular Americans. It’s obvious that people are having a hard time due to record-high inflation, food, gas, and energy prices.

“If you are low income, you can get your home entirely weatherized through the expansion from the bipartisan infrastructure laws, a significant expansion, you don’t have to pay for anything. If you want heat pumps, insulation, new windows, that is covered.”

“If you have a moderate income, today you can get 30% off the price of solar panels. Those solar panels can be financed, so you don’t have to have the big outlay at the front. If you don’t qualify for the weatherization program, you will be able to, starting next year, get rebates on the appliances and equipment that will help you reduce your monthly energy bill by up to 30%. That is all about reducing costs for people.”

Critics who were sick of seeing Democrats play word games and lie in front of the public swiftly exposed Hillary for being a fraud. They emphasized how those who were struggling to survive the day because of the debt and inflation brought on by the Biden administration could manage to pay for this. Americans were still having a difficult time providing for their families, or they were concerned about how they would pay for their commute. These people are simply doing what they can to make ends meet; they are not simply waiting for a 30% off deal to switch to solar.
