World War III Watch: Yemen Officially Declares War on Israel, Launches Large-Scale Ballistic and Drone Strikes

In a concerning turn of events, Yemen, which is under the influence of Iran and is governed by the Houthi proxy group supported by Tehran, has formally initiated hostilities against Israel.

The Houthi group, backed by Iran and currently in control of Yemen’s capital, Sanaa, along with most of the former North Yemen except the eastern Marib Governorate, has commenced extensive military actions against Israeli positions within the “occupied territories.” This announcement was made by Brigadier General Yahya Saree, who serves as the spokesperson for both the Yemeni Armed Forces and the Iranian-supported Houthi insurgents in Yemen.

Following the missile attacks, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have heightened their state of readiness. They have confirmed the effective interception of a land-to-land missile near the Red Sea region.

“The Israeli Air Force intercepted a surface-to-surface missile in the area of the Red Sea. This is the first operational interception by the Arrow Aerial Defense System since the beginning of the war. An additional aerial threat was successfully intercepted by IAF fighter jets in the area this morning. No infiltrations into Israeli territory were identified.”

The Yemeni military has not only acknowledged their involvement in these strikes but has also issued a caution that such attacks on Israeli territory will continue.

Brigadier General Yahya Saree, in a declaration broadcasted on Houthi-controlled Al-Masirah TV, revealed that the Yemeni Armed Forces had initiated ballistic missile and drone attacks against Israeli objectives.

The statement said, “The Yemeni Armed Forces confirm that this is the third operation in support of our oppressed brothers in Palestine, and that the Armed Forces will continue to carry out more qualitative missile and drone attacks until Israel ceases its aggression. We affirm that our Yemeni people’s attitude on the Palestinian issue is firm and ethical, and that the Palestinian people have the full right to self-defense and legitimate rights. The Zionist enemy entity’s ongoing execution of crimes and killings against the people of Gaza Strip and all of occupied Palestine destabilizes the region and extends the circle of conflict. The victory comes only from Allah.”
