The head administrator of the Pentagon’s school system was apprehended in a human trafficking operation in Georgia earlier this week, as per reports.
Stephen Francis Hovanic, aged 64, was apprehended on November 15 in Coweta County, facing allegations related to pandering.
Hovanic holds a senior position within the Department of Defense Education Activity (DODEA) Americas division, responsible for overseeing the elementary education of military families.
In all, 26 individuals were apprehended in this operation, as reported by local media. Sgt. Toby Nix from the county sheriff’s office stated that the law enforcement inquiry revealed six women who had been subjected to human trafficking.
Nix mentioned that the victims have been relocated to a secure facility, where they will receive the necessary assistance to overcome the dreadful ordeal of human trafficking.
A total of twelve individuals have been taken into custody on charges associated with prostitution, according to a report from wsbtv.com. Additionally, ten individuals are currently facing allegations related to pandering, and four individuals find themselves accused of engaging in pimping activities.
The arrests highlight a comprehensive law enforcement effort targeting various aspects of illegal activities, with the charges ranging from involvement in prostitution to the facilitation and promotion of such activities. This multi-faceted operation underscores the commitment to addressing different facets of illicit practices within the community.
Moreover, an ongoing investigation is currently focusing on three individuals who are suspects in cases related to both human trafficking and drug offenses. According to Nix, who provided information to the local media, individuals apprehended on charges related to pimping are expected to encounter legal actions, potentially including indictments specifically for their involvement in human trafficking.
