When they were discovered Thursday trying to blend in with the surrounding topography to escape detection, three migrants who were trying to enter the United States illegally from Mexico stole a leaf from a secret military manual.

The three migrants were apprehended by Border Patrol officials in the El Paso Sector of the organization when they were allegedly sneaking through the desert in southern New Mexico while dressed in ghillie suits.

The ghillie suit is a kind of camouflage gear intended to blend in with several sorts of terrain, including the desert, snow, and ice. Military personnel, police officers, and hunters are the main wearers.

As the issue at the southern border persists, contacts with migrants are happening more frequently.

The CBP said on Monday that there were 199,976 interactions with migrants in July, bringing the total for this fiscal year to 1.946 million encounters. Sources claimed that fewer than 2 million contacts have occurred.

By the end of 2020, there were about 72,000 encounters with migrants per month. After President Biden took office in March 2021, that number increased to almost 173,000 each month.

The Biden administration has emphasized that recidivism as a result of Title 42 expulsions, whereby migrants who are swiftly ejected under the order frequently undertake multiple crossing attempts, inflates the number of interactions. An order from a court has so far prevented the administration from overturning the order, which was put in place because of the COVID-19 outbreak. In July, there were 162,792 different contacts.

As a sort of protest against the federal government, border states like Texas and Arizona have moved migrants to Washington, DC, and New York City due to the quantity of migrants.
