Evan Ellingson, the ex-child actor famous for his parts in “My Sister’s Keeper” and “CSI: Miami,” has died at 35, according to records analyzed by E! News on November 6, as certified by the local San Bernardino coroner’s office.
Ellingson’s death on November 5th in Fontana, California, was announced by authorities. However, the cause of death remains pending at the time of this writing, as reported by the coroner’s office.
Michael Ellingson, Evan’s father, reportedly told TMZ that he found his son’s death at a sober living home. He indicated that Evan had an issue with substance usage in the past, but that he has been doing better as of recently. According to TMZ, investigators have ruled out murder.
No representative for Evan Ellingson could be reached for comment by E! News as of press time.
As a youngster in the early 2000s, Evan Ellingson made his acting debut in a number of television series. In the 2009 film adaptation of Jodi Picoult’s novel “My Sister’s Keeper,” he starred as Jesse Fitzgerald, Cameron Diaz’s character’s eldest child.
Ellingson performed the recurrent role of Kyle Harmon on “CSI: Miami” for three years, appearing in a total of 18 episodes over the course of the show’s run. Harmon was the son of David Caruso’s Horatio Caine.
In an interview from 2009, Evan Ellingson discussed his early days in the entertainment industry, saying, “I never had the same [childhood] experience with my pals. We just never hung out. Regardless, Ellingson conceded that his youth “was a cool one. I was occupied with my favorite activities. The actor continued, saying he “had no regrets” about pursuing acting when he did.
