The shooting spree on Monday appears to have unsettled the Democrats. President Joe Biden has already received criticism twice for responding to it improperly. Recently, the press secretary for a Democrat governor was forced to leave after appearing to encourage transgender violence.

In a school in Nashville, Tennessee, on March 27, Audrey Hale, a 28-year-old man who identified as a woman, went on a killing spree. Hale had killed six people by the time police entered the structure and shot her dead, three of whom were youngsters.

President Biden stunned the nation by discussing ice cream instead of the killings and then made partisan jokes about them. As if the president hadn’t been disrespectful enough, Josselyn Berry, the press secretary for Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs (D), decided to make things worse.

Berry posted this image of actress Gena Rowlands holding two revolvers from the 1980 film Gloria just hours after the shooting in Nashville. It wasn’t warmly received when she added the caption, “Us when we see transphobes.” Outraged Republicans asked Hobbs to remove Berry and accused her of “calling for violence.”

Arizona Women of Action urged people to phone Hobbs’ office and demand Berry be fired, while the Arizona Freedom Caucus criticized the press secretary for her “vile & heartless” post. As a result of the post’s violation of its rules of service, Twitter removed it.

After first declining to comment on the tweet, Hobbs finally gave in to mounting pressure on March 29. She issued a statement that morning claiming to have “received and accepted” Berry’s resignation. Of course, the obvious issue is why Berry wasn’t fired right once and she waited for her to retire.

Although Hobbs has been a vocal advocate for the transgender movement, the movement’s supporters are now acting more violently. Hobbs and other extremely liberal Democrats are now in a difficult situation, and they don’t seem to be managing it well.
