Dem Official Arrested for Allegedly Murdering Journalist

According to officials and local sources, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) on Wednesday confirmed the arrest of Clark County Public Administrator Robert Telles in relation to the stabbing death of investigative journalist Jeff German on August 3.

The Las Vegas Review-Journal, where German has been a reporter since 2010, was the first to announce that police had detained Telles, 45, a day after publishing images of the suspect and the suspect’s car.

While claiming to had the suspect in custody on Wednesday night, LVMPD did not reveal the suspect’s identification or reply to queries.

According to Brett Clarkson of the Review-Journal, Telles was carried on a stretcher from his home and placed into an ambulance.

Around 10:33 a.m., LVMPD received calls about a 69-year-old male named German who was unresponsive outside his residence in the 7200 block of Bronze Circle. on Aug. 3.

When reporters from the Review-Journal approached Telles outside his house on Wednesday afternoon, he remained silent.

The Las Vegas Review-Journal saw Telles, a Democrat, standing close to a car that matched the description of the suspect car on Tuesday night.

German has just written about claims that Telles’ workplace was hostile to employees. After German released his results, the public administrator had lost his attempt for re-election in June.

A recent public records request for text communications between Telles and three other county officials was also made by the journalist.

As they carried out a search warrant at Telles’ residence on Wednesday in connection with German’s death, Las Vegas police towed the car away.

The suspect in the police images that were made public on Tuesday may have been scouting the area for additional crimes before the homicide took place, according to the police.
